Many congratulations to graduate student **Sarah Losso** for receiving the [Harvard Certificate of Distinction in Teaching](https://bokcenter.harvard.edu/teaching-awards) , granted by the Office of Undergraduate Education, in recognition of her excellent work as a teaching fellow during Fall 2019, as part of the course *OEB 56: Geobiology and History of Life*. Well done Sarah!

We are also delighted that our incoming graduate student, **Jared Richards** (currently at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill), has been awarded a prestigious grant by the [National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program](https://www.research.gov/grfp/AwardeeList.do?method=loadAwardeeList) in Paleontology and Paleobiology! Jared will officially join the lab in Fall 2020, and brings with him a wealth of expertise on quantitative paleoecology to study the evolution of exceptional deposits.
