National Fossil Day virtual events at Harvard Museum of Natural History
This year we celebrate National Fossil Day 2020 through various events hosted by the Harvard Museum of Natural History. On October 14th 2020, check out the free webinar entitled "Wonderful Cambrian Beasts", part of the Evolution Matters Lecture Series, where Javier talks about how exceptonally preserved fossils allow us to understand the early evolution of animals (link HERE).
On October 22nd 2020, several members of the lab will participate in a special event focused on the importance of museum fossil specimens. The program includes demonstrations and discussions by Sarah Losso, RJ Knecht, Stephen Pates, Jessica Cundiff and Mark Renczkowski, covering a broad range of modes of fossilization and timescales. We are also joined by vertebrate paleontologists Katrina Jones and Meg Whitney from Stephanie Pierce's group.
