Palaeontological Associaton Annual Meeting in Cork

After two years of remote-format conferences, the Harvard IP lab had a great representation at the 66th Annual Meeting of the Palaeontological Association hosted at University College Cork in Ireland, and superbly organized by Dr. Maria McNamara and her team. Contributions included the first in-person attendance to an international conference by Maddi Waskom, featuring her work on the use of micro-CT to understand the preservation of three-dimensional fossils, Jared Richard's progress on testing hypothesis about the animal biodiversity preserved in the Fezouata biota, Sarah Losso's new data on the exceptionally preserved internal anatomy in the non-trilobite artiopod Helmetia expansa from the Burgess Shale, and Karma Nanglu's insights on a new fossil tunicate from the mid-Cambrian of Utah that informs the early history of this cryptic group. Reconnecting again with old colleagues, meeting new ones, and with the beautiful background of Cork including the Lee River, Blarney Castle and the Butter Museum, the conference had something to offer for everyone!
